Swim Lessons

Trae was so excited to get to start swim lessons. I really didn't know how he would do I was hoping he would just be shy for a couple of minutes then jump right in. And to my surprise I just needed to walk him in the pool then he was good he would yell at me every once in a while just to check if I was watching him.

He did great. She was great with him. She had him put his face in the water and blow bubbles which he hates doing cause the water normally can't be anywhere on his face. He jumped in from the side and went under the water. I was very proud of him. I am very glad I did the private lessons I think it will help us this summer for not freaking out when water gets in his face and just a little more water safety.
After is was over he asked how many times he gets to go I said you get to go 5 times. He informs me that is not enough Mom I need to go like 10 times. So it was a success!

A Day Out!

So on Saturday we were just hanging out and I told Matt we needed to go somewhere fun cause I was sick of being home. I had sick kids for a whole week and didn't really leave the house so I needed out. So we hurried and got ready and went to Salt Lake. We took the kids to the Childrens Museum at the Gateway. Livi , Maliah, & Nya came with us for a little bit and Yaya and Dusty came to meet us as well. What a fun day we had. Trae could have stayed longer than the 2+ hours but we were all hungry and needed to go eat.
They were loving the kitchen and cooking.

The store is always a hit as well. Kira loved filling the basket with as much as she could fit.

Rolls:

2 1/4 C. very warm water
2 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
1 yellow or white cake mix
5 C. flour

Mix water and yeast together with a wire whisk in a large bowl. Whisk cake mix into yeast water. Stir in flour one cup at a time. Let stand in bowl in a draft-free place for 45 minutes. Knead enough to punch down and roll to approx. 18" X 10". Add a small amount of flour if needed for kneading.

Filling:
1/2 C. butter or margarine softened
1 C. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 C. chopped nuts (Optional)
1/4 C. raisins (Optional)

Mix butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Heat in microwave for 15 seconds. Spread over rolled out dough. Sprinkle nuts and raisins over dough. Starting with the widest end, roll dough into a tight log. Cut with dental floss into 1/2" to 1" slices. Place in a greased 9x13 inch pan and an 8x8 inch pan. Allow rolls to rise 25-35 minutes. Bake at 350ยบ for 17-23 minutes, watching carefully.

Frosting:
1 (3-4oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 C. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. salt

Verdict: They were super easy and faster than my normal cinnamon rolls. We liked them they were very good. But if I have the time to make my normal ones I will do those. But I will make these again! Enjoy

New news

Just some fun a exciting news...
We are having another baby!
If any of you see me it may look like I just liked the Easter candy but that was not the case. I really am pregnant. I am due Nov.4. Yes Trae is excited to have the baby by his birthday. He will be great. We had to tell him cause the other day he asked me if I have a baby in my tummy so apparently I am showing a little if he can notice. We are excited and the best part is I haven't been really sick just tired. So all is good.

Easter Dresses

We were late for church but I knew I wasn't going to be able to get pictures after so I just snapped and few pictures. I really didn't get too many but what do you do when your kids are ready to get in the car or ride a bike. Poor Trae just kept trying to keep his eyes open cause it was so bright. They are good sports.

Easter Egg Hunt

Friday before Easter I had little egg hunt at the house. We had Taya and Tate our friends who live right by us and also the Jolleys came to join us. It was so fun. The kids were able to just grab a bunch of eggs so it was fun they all dumped their candy out when we got inside and just went to town. I think they all had a great time I know my kids did and loved having everyone there. You just have to love Easter!

Waffles

FAVORITE WAFFLES
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. milk
8 oz. plain non-fat yogurt
1 3/4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preheat waffle griddle. In a small bowl beat the egg whites until stiff (not dry) and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored. Continue beating adding milk, yogurt & vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Beat until just smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites. Let sit for 5 minutes before cooking. ENJOY!

I found this new waffle recipe and it is so good. My kids eat seconds normally. I just had to share always like a new recipe.

Freezer Meals

So I was just wasting time but I found something that I think is the best idea ever. Getting together with 5 friends and making like 15 meals spending less than $100 and have them in your freezer to grab and cook. How amazing? So I am going to put a group together. If any one wants to join me let me know. I was reading about how they started their group and they do it all in 1 day. I am seriously sold. Maybe its because I live in the boonies (as Trae says) but it would be so nice to not have to think about what to cook!
The amazing things you can fing in the blogging world! Love it!!

Big Lip

The other night after I just got home taking Kira into the doctor cause she had a high fever Trae threw a fit and hit his head against the side of the couch and split his lip. My first thought was great I have no husband here with me and I am going to have to go back to Poky to get stiches, But we were good with a cold wash cloth and a cuddle from mom. Poor boy!
The pictures on the top are from the next day the bottom ones are from that night.

A Spring Day

The kids got to play outside on Tuesday with our friends Taya and Tate (which I forgot to take a picture of) But they had so much fun. Except Kira had a high fever that evening.

Trae trying really hard to pedal his legs are just a little too short but they are close.
Kira is in a mood that she just scowls if I take her picture but after she smiles really big. Little bugger.

Kids being kids

The kids' new favorite place to play is Kira's closest. They were playing so good and just laughing so I just let them be. And this is what I found her room to be covered in all her little clothes that don't fit covering the floor.

Trae thought this was a shirt but really it's Kira's nightgown from 2 Christmas' ago.
Loving her hat and her doll. She is such a girl sometimes with it comes to accessories.
